Is this video card worth it?

$35 is about what that GT 220 is worth if you ask me. It's not a gaming graphics card. They sell new for more of course. :)

Here's a review of that video card:

Personally, if you are looking to upgrade, I'd look at something better. It appears to perform like a 9500GT which I think is somewhere inline with the 8600GT. Although I'd have to look up old benchmarks online to confirm.

Well, my 8600 isn't wanting to cool right I don't think. I only run at 1280x1024 screen resolution because I am on a 17 inch monitor so if it runs games good on that res then ill be fine. My PSU is a silverstone 400 watt and my budget isn't very high right now.

If it out preforms the 8600GT then I should be fine for my games? With the 8600GT before it started overheating I was able to get 40-60 FPS in fallout 3 on HIGH with 2x AA, 8 or 16 AF I think and a hi-res texture pack.

OK, figured out the problem with my 8600GT. The FAN DIED ON IT. On top of that instead of accepting an rma the only option XFX gave me was them sending me a replacement fan which means I have to risk ruining the video card by installing it.

 This means you'll need some thermal compound and some patience.
