This seems to be a decent deal... what do you think? I am considering buying this because I need a laptop soon and I can pay this off over 5 months and that is the only way I can afford a laptop right now. Please don't just respond with "check out this other laptop", I'd just like your opinion on this one... it is on sale for $599

Yes, it is a good deal for you! The computer specs as listed by you sounds good and worth $ 600 new. If you are satisfied with Gateway reliability, it is ok. I would not recommend Gateway over Asus, Toshiba, Sony, HP.
