If I could get this for £300 in total would this be worth buying?

It's pretty good as far as $300 goes. It's pretty far behind the curve for performance but you won't get much better for $300.

Well if I got this for 300 what would I need to upgrade? maybe the gpu? like a 1050ti or something?

Definently good for the price but as jalyt_justin said, it behind the curve. But an ssd is a nice perk and the main thing holding this build back is the gpu, maybe a geforce 1060 would definently make this build up to date. But for now that build can probally play most games on low or medium settings. But the real benchmark here is minecraft, native 4k 120fps minecraft is the only way to play.

Good idea to swap the small SSD for something in the 250-500gb range. Rest of the parts are good (aside from the older video card). Even the speakers are good quality.
