Is too high FPS dangerous for the system?

Hi, I play CSGO alot on my PC and CSGO is capped at 300FPS by default. But the thing is... there is a recent update in CSGO which has caused a bug. The bug makes it so that you get huge frame drops if your FPS is capped in CSGO. I have been experiencing this bug so I decided to uncap my FPS. My FPS is now around 550FPS and my Computer gets some coil whine.

My question is: Is it dangerous for your system to run a game at extremely high FPS?

Solution
Holy never enable Vsync on something like CSGO. 😀

Anyway, no. It wont damage anything or shorten the lifespan of anything. Coil whine is also harmless it's just annoying.
Your hardware isn't running at 100% load if you uncap your fps in CSGO. You can display the usage to make sure.

Just leav it like it is, anyone is running CSGO like that. :)

Edit: Why do so many people have problems with screen tearing? I dont get any with a 60Hz screen, even while games like CSGO are at 300+ fps. It even feels totally wrong and laggy if my fps dip to like 100, even if i only got a 60Hz screen. CS with less than 100fps just feels wrong. You'll know what i mean, when you play on a higher level. 😀

But does your PC get stressed at higher FPS? I think Ive read somewhere that the temps go higher the higher FPS you have.

They might just a little bit, but your biggest worry should be the ridiculous amount of screen tearing you're probably getting at that FPS, limit it to your monitor's refresh rate and the game will seem faster!

Thank you for the answer. Makes me relieved.

EDIT: I get what you mean. Under 100FPS is unacceptable for CSGO. I can literally FEEL the lag even though I have a 60Hz monitor. Have never seen any screen tearing in CSGO either 😉
