Okay, don't compare it with horrible Toshiba laptop HDD

A long time ago, WD sell some HGST share to Toshiba in order they (Toshiba) can make own 3.5" HDD. Later in 2016, Backblaze shows WD hard drive become unreliable (while it's not severe as Seagate), Hitachi remain reliable, Toshiba quitely reliable but they don't have enough data.

So it bring me a new question, is Toshiba desktop hard drive reliable as Hitachi?

Thanks

Solution
Probably not, but it will depend on the specific drives you are comparing.

Here is a older link I found on hard drive failures:
https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-q3-2015/

They are just as reliable as any other, keep in mind that backblaze report is based off consumer drives stacked closely together in an enterprise enviroment, not accurate data.

Maybe the ones I have owned are rebranded HGST drives but I havent had any issues with them (laptop or desktop)

Not in my experience.

Toshiba desktop HDD lasted just 18 months.
Hitachi desktop HDD still working faultlessly after 6 years - I'm still using it.

Okay, you could put it down to bad luck but I can only speak as I find. I didn't fancy buying another Toshiba just to see if it was bad luck with the first one.
