I will first give some information about my PC and the situation:

Right so basically I am gonna upgrade my cpu, mobo and RAM soon. (Ryzen 1600 + MSI gaming pro + 8gb DDR4)

GPU : MSI GTX 760 (will stay the same as its not super important for me right now)
I am running my GPU at stock and I am not planning any crazy overclocks (maybe not at all even) for my ryzen 1600.

I currently have a corsair VS550 power supply (Its roughly 1 year old), and I know the VS series is not really the best PSU out there. (I bought it because it was the only thing I could afford at that point.)

So when I get my new mobo+cpu+ ram I could either upgrade my PSU to a better quality one or I could get a SSD (Currently I don't have an SSD)
But my budget is still quite limited, and I also have to look at what is available in the store I plan on buying.

So my choices are currently:

1. Keep my VS 550 and buy an SSD
2. Get a Cooler Master GM 550
3. Get a Corsair CX550M
3. Get a Corsair TX550m V2

Anyway I don't know if it is worth upgrading my PSU to just a slightly more reliable one or if I should just get an SSD. Any sort of help is apprechiated!

Hi - You are correct the VS series is not all that good. But, stay with it for now. No need
to change if you're not upgrading your GPU and aren't going to go wild on OC.
Invest in an SSD now and upgrade your PSU when you upgrade your GPU.

After all the things I read on the internet I am just kinda scared using my current PSU, especially now since I'll be buying so many expensive components. but thank you very much for the input!
