Is upgrading my setup worth it?

Cpu cooler:212 evo
Ram:8gb 4x2 Kingston hyperx 1866
Motherboard:asus m5a97r2.0
Gpu:gigabyte r9 280x
Psu:corsair cx750
if I were to buy a gtx 970 would I see a large gain in performance or should I save money and live out the life of my gpu? Would my cpu bottlekneck the 970? How far could I oc my cpu with my motherboard?
Btw I try to play @60hz 1080p with only one monitor

save your money. the gtx970 is an upgrade but your graphics card is still beasty. save your money

You will see gain about 40-50% http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_970_SC_ACX_Cooler/25.html The question is if you have anything that is not playable with current card on acceptable settings.

You probably won't see that much of an increase in performance. Unless you're playing games at 1440p or 4k, the current card you have should be able to play almost every game out there at 1080p, 60 fps on high/ultra settings. I'd say maybe hold off until the next generation of Cards. If your card was of a lower end such as the R9 270X then it would be a noticeable difference.
