I'm gonna buy a new laptop, which has no network card, so I need to buy Ethernet to USB adapter also.
I need to choose between adapter that supports USB 2 or USB 3.

I use DSL connection, speedtest.net shows speed up to 80-90 Mbps.
I read that if speed is no more than 480 Mbps then no need for USB 3.

But at the same time I read that USB 3 is USB3 is interrupt-driven IIRC and full-duplex whereas USB 2 is half-duplex. Does it change anything in favor of USB 3 in my case ?

Best answer ever! 😀

Ya dude, I forgot about vendor going cheap, or too thin to fit a RJ45. USB3 type that much more expensive than USB2? Just give it a USB3 and be done with it. My MacBook has no RJ45 either but I use a thunderbolt dongle, could had use a USB2 dongle but I do make LAN transfers from time to time and need the 1 gbit.

What laptop is this?

It already has WiFi built in.
No need for some other adapter.
