is water solution dangerous for displays?

Hi,

I want to reuse a screen protector and I noticed that some people did make a home made water based solution to easily apply the screen protector to the tablet, by applying the solution on the screen (turned off) directly. I'd make my own solution by mixing some water and soap. Is it really safe by applying this kind of solution to any kind of screen?

it should fine be as long as it does not run into the edges, just keep the screen face as a level plane ( flat on a table and not too much liquid). but is this just to clean the screen and then put on the protector or to put the protector on wet screen? for cleaning this is a fine idea.

No, it's not just for cleaning it, I'd use it to put an armor suit screen protector (I have no solution included because I purchased the tablet from a private seller).

(Why is not advisable to let the solution run into the edges? Could it run into the internal hardware of the device?)

Ok, but I read that some manufacturers advise against putting alcohol based solutions (both commercial and home made) on the screens of their devices... I hold a Dell Venue pro 11, I should maybe check either the specific material of my screen is compatible with alcohol, but I cannot find this information...

Thanks. Do you use distillate water or tap water could be fine as well? Do you put it on the entire surface of the screen while applying the screen protector? Or do you wet the screen protector and then apply it on the screen? I mean, can I put water directly on the screen (away from the edges)?

My tap water is clean, and I use a soft paper or cloth to clean my displays. Water will only escape inside if it's enough to make it stand up on the display, if that makes sense. Thin layer and gently rub the dirt off is the best way. Chemicals hurt the glass and can cause permanent damage. Screen protector after it's dry of course.

Never had issues with damage, 100% denature ethyl alcohol evaporates so fast it never is a short potential either. plain rubbing alcohol works fine too. if water works then use it, but I find more often than not if you need a screen really clean ( such as when applying a screen protector) it pays to insure there is nothing but glass for the protector to stick to.

Ok...Do you think that waiting a day before turning on my tablet is enough?

help! I applied the screen protector with some drops of tap water to the tablet after having took away the battery,I waited a couple of hours and now I tryed to turn it on but it doesn't work, when I inserted the charger I saw the led for a second and no more... No more leds now... Maybe I should have waited more? ... 🙁

Both the cable of the charger and the switch fit on one side of it, just under the screen... I guess that some water felt into the switch, because firstly I turned the tablet on without having the charger connected to it and it didn't work.
Normally a light goes on, on the contrary no lights appear now...://
The battery was put off when I applied the screen protector and it is not probable that some water felt into the battery compartment.

My doubt is either I fulminated it while pushing the switch... 😵 ...or probably it will work again if I dry it ? Now I immersed it into a container full of rice, I removed both the cover and the battery...

well, I don't know why the led was not working properly and the tablet did not power on, in any case everything is working now...

(I put the screen protector under the water for a while and then scrolled it and applied on the screen)
