hello i have windows xp professional service pack 3 runing on my desktop.it's specs are Intel(R) Celeron (R) CPU 420@1.60 GHz 1.60GHz and ram of1.99 gb. 32 bit.will windows 7 ultimate or any windows seven work on my computer??

Yes; but you cannot do much with it. 2GB is really low for Windows 7. I'd recommend at least 4GB. But you can always add more RAM sticks.

If you plan to stick with 2GB of RAM, stick with Windows XP.

Where do you live? It's not very expensive.

Home Basic is crap. Stick with Home Premium.

The RAM, try this one (Kingston Hyper X DDR3 4GB (2x 2GB). Your motherboard does support DDR3 right?

As for the Windows 7 question, I said Home Premium.
