Windows Defender is not that good. Malware bites however is excellent. you do need something else to go with it though. I use Avast Free Antivirus. It has a file shield, web shield, mail shield, and behavior shield. Yes like most free antivirus there are popups trying to sell you more. However you can set them to last only a couple of seconds. Or you can do as I do and use the silent mode. With this mode you will receive no popups.

I works well. Also it tops the list of best free antivirus according to PC Magazine. https://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2388652,00.asp

yes it is one of the best in AV test Dec.2017 too but the problem is that avast or any other anti virus except win defender makes the pc very slow, i ve 8700 k i7 4.7, 16 gb ddr4, but even then other anti virus makes it slow than win defender, anyway in AV TEST DEC 2017 win defender has also the same numbers like avast free anti virus except usability, ld u plz explain what is usability in av test, does it mean users or ease of use?

Whether Defender is good enough depends on your browsing and PC use habits. I use it on all of my Windows machines and have had ZERO issues with it protecting my systems. I also use Malwarebytes, in addition to Defender. I practice good cyber hygiene and that makes a huge difference.
