I'm not sure if it's good enough.....but that's all I've been using for years and I make sure it's up to date.....and so far I haven't had any issues (knock on wood).

I have used Windows built in security for years with no issue, personally. I also use a pop up blocker and generally am very judicious about where I surf and what I click on. With that being said, my kids have infected their computers multiple times over the years, to a degree that I would just set up a ghost image such that I could just wipe and re-install. I also (typically) kept them out of the local network share.
Any AV solution is only as good as the seat to keyboard interface.
