Doubt's with (Gigabyte M27Q 27 Inch) monitor
1, Can I play dota 2 with resolution 1080 pixel? is that recommended? or It is possible to play in 2k ?
2, And can I watch movies with 2k resolution?

On 1080p? Yes, you can play it at that reso.
All monitors can play at lower resolution. E.g with 1440p monitor, you can play at 1440p, 1080p, 720p, 768p, 600p, 480p etc. Just change the reso setting in-game.

Playing in 1440p (2K), means you'll get FPS drop and you won't be getting 120 FPS anymore. So, if you're fine with that, you can also play on 1440p.
FPS drop is because GPU has to work harder on 1440p and draw out more pixels than on 1080p, hence the FPS drop. How much of a drop that is, that i can't tell.

And can I watch movies with 2k resolution?
Yes.

However, do note that when movie is recorded at 1080p reso, looking it at 1440p reso, only further pixelates the screen, reducing quality. But if movie is recorded in 1440p, you'll gain quality over 1080p version.

This, dark areas looking bad, is due to the poor contrast ratio your current monitor has, 1000:1,
specs: https://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-22MP68VQ-P#pdp_spec

Now, if it would have better contrast ratio, e.g 3000:1, dark areas would look a lot better.

Do note that the new Gigabyte monitor also has the poor 1000:1 contrast ratio,
specs: https://www.gigabyte.com/Monitor/M27Q/sp#sp

And you won't gain any better image quality.

If you want good contrast ratio monitor, look towards VA panel monitors. TN and IPS panels are stuck with poor, 1000:1 contrast ratio.
