So i own Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000 x2 ram that equals to 16gb of 3000mhz ram. But i dont have XMP enabled on my bios as i dont fully understand the concept of that to begin with but my friends say ur wasting ur ram as ur using them at base speed of 2133mhz and ur loosing free fps and performance as my ram is rated for 3000mhz. So i went and checked the XMP setting in my bios and it is there and there are 2 default profiles of ram already made one of 2666mhz and one of 2833mhz or something like that. So my question is that using XMP is safe or not and i should enable it or not and will it affect my performance somewhat noticeably by enabling this setting and can this is any way affect my ram temps to dangerous levels?

Side note- My motherboard is MSI B450 Tomahawk and my cpu is Ryzen 5 2600.

XMP is safe.
Enable it.
Performance will be impacted. Depends on you, if you are able to notice it.
Ram temps will be impacted minimally, if you stick to manufacturer specifications and don't do any crazy manual overclocking.

Yes, enable it if you want memory to run at it's rated frequency. XMP is just set of instructions built into RAM control chip for BIOS to set memory properly.

So in this case manufacturer specifications would be 3000mhz right? And how minimally? is there a software or something to measure ram temps?

You don't have to worry about it, if you're sticking to manufacturer specifications. Ram modules usually don't have any temp sensors on them. So - no way of measuring temps without additional hardware.
Just make sure your pc case is well ventilated.

It will most likely work at 2933MHz. depending on BIOS version.
