is1280x960 considered a 1080 resolution ?

so that means that this resolution is in no form hd at all ? is really bad playing at that resolution compared to a 720p too ?

That resolution is still HD, it just isn't FHD (full high definition aka. 1080p). Your resolution is a little higher than native 720/768p (which is HD).

so it would be a acceptable res then ? hey is it true that using vga makes the game look awful compared to DVI ? i dont believe because there is no way battlefield can look any better than it does on my vga monitor.

No VGA looks the same as DVI until you get to VERY VERY high res. What you heard is a common myth.

Your calculation is slightly off. 1920x1080 is 2073600. The percentage becomes 59.3% ie. 40.7% fewer pixels.
