ok, i've downloaded the download installer tool, the eicnfg remover tool, the right .iso file and after some time figured out in what order to use said tools and how to use them correctly and ust when i thought i had buddies laptop up and running again, the installer can't find the drivers for the HDD. What's more i had a hell of a time locating any kind of driver folder. When i did finally, true enough there are no system drivers, can anyone out there tell me what up? Come to far now to be annoyed but really? lol

Yup a bud formatted his little atom netbook trying to clear up some spam issues and , well i was asked to look at it. Yes his OS is Windows 7 starter /w product key. I've downloaded X17-24269.iso (Win 7 Pro [old]), did the eicnfg thing and presto nothing. Anyways yes the HDD is in the bios but its disabled and i can't access it to enable it. I'm using a USB flash drive for the temp OS. Actually the HDD says it's Not Present. Now do you think its possible to download the drivers (drag and drop) to the drivers folder in the .iso file to fix this up, or do i have to get more technical about it?

no it doesn't give that option. USB.HDD\SSD or LAN (Realtek PXE). I searched for the exact .iso file X16-96078 but no luck as yet, but ya i agree thats probably the best way to start out again. Using the eicnfg tool and choosing an OS didn't sound all that promising. And like everything else i have to have the one in a million problem that the files are either outdated, non-existant or just a nightmare to deal with. May as well start writing him a new OS now lmao !!
Thanx for your input tho much appreciated !
