[SOLVED] ISP emailed me about telnet

I got an email from my ISP. I have no idea what it means. I do not use telnet. I recently bought a new router. The message said

This host is most likely running a publicly accessible telnet service, which may be abused by a third party.
Protocol: telnet
Port: 23

Should I be doing something to secure my pc? I already have a strong wifi password. Other than that I dont know what this email means.

Your new router is probably running a telnet server.

You should carefully go through the settings on the router, look for anything about remote management and turn it off.

An open telnet server will attract hackers like nothing else.
