Hi, i was wondering if anybody can help me with this problem. My ISP is rated for 50mbps download, but the thing is with a wireless connection through my laptop and desktop I only receive 5mbps or less. But my main computer that is running through an Ethernet cable and I get my right download speed, 50mbps. My ISP is Verizon fios and I am currently using the Verizon Quantum Gateway G1100

**Updated**

I forgot to mention, when i run the speed test through my cell phone or any cellular device (iphone/android) I received the 50mbps.

Solution
If you get the expected speed with a wired connection but not with wireless, the problem is either your wireless router, the wireless adapter in your laptop or the RF environment between your router and laptop.

If there are tons of other APs in your immediate neighborhood, you have many floors/walls between your router and laptop, have a significant distance between your router and laptop, have significant noise sources, have multiple devices sharing the WiFi connection or any other number of other issues, WiFi performance tends to go down the drain.

If you want predictable performance, use a wired Ethernet connection wherever possible.
