Hi, I just upgraded my hp pro 3500 MT. I recently installed a seasonic sl2 ll 620 watt power supply and everything was running fine. I attempted to install an hp s700 500gb ssd, I got a usb to Sata cable to migrate my OS to the SSD, however, when I plugged in the USB to sata cable to the computer and SSD, I did not get a device recognization from Windows. I tried unplugging and retrying , nothing. So I thought maybe it was the USB to Sata cable and tried plugging the SSD in an extra sata data and power cable inside the computer. What happened was that the computer started for a second then died like if it were turned off. I tried the power button, the switch on the back of the psu, the switch on my surge protector, unplugging the cable. The power suplly now makes this long beep and a few afterwards continuously. No boot up screen or signal on screen, no source of power, just a strange sound from PSU. I tried another psu I have on the side and the other psu makes the same noise. I don't think the psu is the problem, but I am thinking maybe the mobo? I am hoping the capacitators on the mobo are not shot. Any thoughts?

Specs.
HP Pro 3500 MT
Cpu i3-3220
Asus Phoenix Gtx 1050ti 4gb
tp link wifi pci card
8gb ram
Seasonic S12 ll 620 watt
Seagate 320 Gb 7200 RPM HDD
trying to transfer to HP s700 500GB SSD

Any advice/ help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks.

Solution
certainly does sound like mobo or CPU.

Have you checked that you don't have any short circuit or something on the motherboard.

Remove all cards so you just have the RAM (no GPU and no TP-link).

Remove the RAM and re-seat it to make sure you didn't bump it.

With the minimal system, try starting up.

The beep code is probably coming from the motherboard rather than the PSU.
Can you check you manual to see what it means?

Yeah, I tried resetting the ram and removed the cards. Same results. I also tested the two power supplies on an older computer. They work fine. I am thinking the Mobo is fried. Come to think of it though. Every once in a while I got a post pop up stating info on specifically on the CPU when starting the HP Pro 3500 MT when it was working. So it's between those two components. I don't know if that means anything, but my guess is that if the CPU had anything to do with it, it probably needed new thermal paste/Arctic silver, and the paste on there may have gotten old and caused the Mobo to fry, or the Mobo could not handle the ssd. Maybe the new SSD was faulty.

I am checking for the codes now. I never heard the computer beep so many times, but it's not like the kind of beep when a computer starts up. It's extremely quiet, and starts out with a long sound then a repetition of small ones. I will still check to see if there's a code in manual.
