Hi guys,

I recently had a hard drive become nonresponsive, it was my os drive of all things. Having the money and having wanted to go ssd for the main drive i purchased two ssds, both samsung 850's one pro one not.

After a day of having no luck installing windows 8 on either drive i turn here to TH, it fails the same at the same point for both drives and i fear its the dvd (which i last used about a year ago, only using it that once). It fails at 54%-55% with the error 0x80070570.

My biggest fear is its my ram which loads fine in bios.

Mobo: asus crosshair v formula-z
cpu: amd fx 8350
ram: corsair 1333 8gb 2 sticks
vgc: gtx 670
psu: nzxt gold 1000w
hdd: wd caviar black 750gb (failure)
ssd 1: samsung 850 pro 128gb
ssd 2: samsung 850 120gb

Buying new ram isnt the end of the world but it does mean new cpu cooler would be needed, so any recomendations on ram and cpu cooler are appreciated.

Thanks internet,

Jimbo

Your memory shouldn't interfere with an installation like that. If the memory had a problem it should show up in bios, not at some later esoteric point.

If it's your DVD (which seems very likely) then you are in luck. You can get in touch with Microsoft who will be more than happy to hook you up with an ISO image to get you working again.

I only have a mobile device right now, so in reply to Lostalone, i have the iso image and it failed again at roughly 55% with both the DVD burn and usb iso. Any other solutions other then buying windows? Linux is getting cloaer to having a system that can native install windows programs without windows. I might just suffer Wine until then.
