[SOLVED] issue m.2 PCIe installing win10

Hi,

I have a GA-X99-UD4 mainboard and installed a intel SSD6 2TB in the M.2 10gb slot.

The drive is recognized by windows(other SSD on the system) as well as within the Win installer(USB). but after installation/first reboot, I get following error:
file winload.efi is missing with
failure code: 0xc000000e
I'm also not able to see the m.2 ssd in the bios anywhere as well as it is not shown as bootable in the selection...

I saw several threads but nothing matching this issue.... hope someone has a solution for me.

okay, this issue is overcome... next issue now... drive is not shown in boot order. automatically boot goes to usb....

Remove usb.

Or change boot sequence, so Windows Boot Manager is first.

unfortunately no... now nothing is booted, goes straight into bios...

their is nothing, it is empty.... as mentioned, the drive was never shown in bios.... no idea why it is recognized by windows but by the bios seems to be total senseless...

BTW - what BIOS version do you have on your board?
Might be necessary to update to latest version.

sorry for german, on the top called Boot option prioritäten, normally all drives are shown. when I connect the other drives they are displayed here.

Update BIOS to F24c version.

And your screenshot is no good.
Click on "Boot Option Prioritaten" and show screenshot from that screen.

will do the update but this isn‘t a selectable button normally their is a grid below which you can select. will send a screen shot later

thank you both! BIOS update fixed it. Looking back, I think my unreasonable inner defense against a BIOS update required me to go here and ask for help.... I always know that making a BIOS update could potentially fix it but for some reason I didn't want it to do. it took me just 10 minutes to do it, really stupid from me.

Thanks again. will never come back here for support if BIOS is no up to date...
