Issue re installing windows

Ok, I have windows 8 on a spare hdd. My brother needed to reinstall his windows so I gave him the hdd to use not knowing that when you install windows 8 it puts a partition on one of the hdds so whenever we removed the hdd from his computer it won't boot. Now my computer won't boot with or without the hdd, it tells me "Having trouble loading Operating System". I'm looking for a way to install windows 8 on his computer without it creating the system partition on my hdd and how to get mine to work again . Thanks

Buy him a copy of Windows 8.

say he does buy it, my pc still wont boot up with my hdd.
