[SOLVED] Issue when adding an extra 8 gb of ram

Ok so I initially had 8gbs of 2400 MGz DDR4 ram (ballistix) and when i added another 8gb of 2400MGz DDR4 ram (crucial) my pc would turn on but no signal would go to my monitor and my pc would restart itself. Both sticks work individually in the 1st slot and 2nd slot (I only have 2 slots on motherboard not ddr4) . I used the crucial system scanner to double check they were compatible and they were. Confusion of the highest order, please help.

Incompatibility between ram, this is why ram are sold in sets. Sorry dude, return the ram and get a set.

Memory manufacturers don't guarantee those kind of combinations to work together.

Just curious, is this with an AMD system, or Intel?

Intel I am going to return it and get a ballistix stick the exact same as my first.

Even that will not guarantee compatibility. It's your time and money, but I'd just go ahead and purchase a new RAM Kit.
