Issue when trying to boot with two RAM Sticks.


I just built a new PC and the motherboard was the x570 MSI gaming plus. Everything went fine but when trying to run the computer with 2 sticks of RAM in the 2 and 4 slots the computer doesn't boot and i just get the RAM warning light. Both sticks will boot when I run them individually in both the one and two slots but not the three and four. I tried turning on XMP and resetting my bios to default. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

According to diagram on page 5 of the manual - https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7C37v2.1.pdf
If you have 1 stick, use DIMMA2 (2nd slot)
if you have 2 sticks, use DIMMA2 & DIMMB2 (2nd & 4th slot)
only use DIMMA1 & DIMMB1 if you have more than 2 sticks. (slots 1 & 3)

the XMP settings won't change how the slots work.

have you got latest BIOS?

This point “Both sticks will boot when I run them individually in both the one and two slots but not the three and four” makes me think bent cpu pin. I’d suggest looking for a bent cpu pins.
