I recently purchased and built a new computer, but didn't buy a wireless network adapter as I already had one. I managed to install it and apparently did not need drivers, and the adapter worked the moment I started my computer after putting it in.

My issue is that if I turn off my computer and turn it back on, I get the error "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network". I have no idea why or what is causing this problems, as the adapter was in my old computer with no issues whatsoever.

I am using windows 7. When I look at the device list, it only shows the adapter as "802.11n Wireless LAN Card".

I would try going to Control Panel > System > Device Manager, locating the Wireless adapter, right click and click uninstall driver. I suppose you should download a copy of the drivers first however and reinstall them. Here is a little more detailed response given by Microsoft if my idea doesn't work. Best of luck to ya, and hopefully one of those will work out for you. - Sub

I tried that and no luck. My computer did have another 112 updates to install after I turned it off, however, so hopefully one of them will fix the problem.
