Issue with cords (new motherboard)

Hey so I just finished upgrading my old desktop, I switched out the motherboard for this - http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5607#ov The gigabyte h110ma. Everything is installed and in place except for I cannot figure out where all of my cords go.

This may sound like a noobie question as a lot of the cords say what they are in correspondence to what they are on the motherboard, like the psu is P1 so it simple. But half the other cords are unlabeled, so its a guessing game on if i even need them or where they go.

This is the last thing I need before I can turn it on, is there a way I can do it myself or should I head up to a store to get help.

Hello... I would suggest utubing a few building instructions/videos... Learn the name of the connectors... that always helps me with autoparts and maintenance before I do the JOB.. B )

Are you having trouble with the cables coming from the PSU, or the set that come from the case?

From the PSU you just need the ATX cable and the 8 Pin power cable.

From the case you'll need:
1) The front panel audio connector (standard - see MB manual for details)
2) The front panel USB connectors
3) Fan headers for your case fans
4) The set of switches/LEDs... these are annoying and you'll need to pay careful attention to both the cable, the pins where they connect on the motherboard, and for the LEDs you need to make sure you get the polarity right (+ / -).

It's from the case, so what I'm understanding is I only need 6? There's more than that do I just not use the rest, and also what if some aren't long enough.

How many you have depends entirely on the case. Basically every LED, button and connector (USB, audio, etc) on the case will have its own cable which needs to go to the motherboard if you want that "thing" to work. So you don't have to connect the front USB ports to the motherboard, it won't do any harm if they're not connected, but obviously the USB ports on the front of the case won't function unless they're connected. The same goes for your front audio connectors, and your power button, reset button, HDD led and power led.

The only one you really "need" is the power button, but even that can be worked around, you can start your computer with a paperclip and connect nothing to the case.

I'm assuming you want your ports, buttons and LEDs to work. So you need to figure out which goes where.

- The USB & Front Audio connectors are unique, they will only go in the right port, so connect them where they fit.
- The set of tiny cables with rectangular connectors must be labelled. It'll just be something like "PW_LED" for the power led, "R_SW" for the reset switch, etc. Then it's a matter of looking careful at your motherboard, and/or the manual, to make sure you put each connector in the right place.

If you have specific cables that don't reach, you either need to purchase extenders, or decide to live without whatever that cable does.
