issue with integrated graphics

Hi! I have a problem with Intel HD 4400. The video memory is locked to 128 MB on the desktop, while in the bios it's set to 512 MB.This ruined my FPS in games. Has anyone dealed with this ? By the way i'm using Win 10, if it makes any difference...

Go into bios and see if disabling dvmt does it. Dvmt automatically changes the amount up to 1.7gb by default so setting it manually usually does nothing.

I went to bios and found the dvmt section but there was no option to disable.
It had these options:128 MB, 256 MB, MAX. It was set to MAX.

What was the setting called that you changed?

What setting do you mean ? If you meant for the video memory it's called Intel Processor Graphics Memory Allocation
or if you meant for DVMT it's called DVMT Total Memory Size

Change the allocated one again to something different and see if it saves. Where are you checking the vram in windows?

I've changed it to 96 MB in Bios, but still remains 128 Mb in windows. I check for video memory in intel HD 4400 properties panel(the one where it shows dedicated video memory). But I find this interesting, when i right click on My Computer icon and go to properties ,the RAM amount available has changed (increased) but vram doesn't even budge.

When i had Win 7 ,before Win 10, The video memory was always in sync on desktop with the bios (example: bios is set to 384 Mb, desktop says 384 Mb).Since i upgraded the OS to Win 10 i got this issue.

should I try resetting the bios by taking out the battery on the motherboard?

Sure doesn't hurt. But it doesn't seem you have any way to disable dvmt and is shouldn't have been the cause of an fps difference.

I haven't seen anyone mention allocation issues with windows 10 but then most with intel hd probably wouldn't notice. So it might be.
