issue with laptop

Hi i have an issue i have asus x551m it was gonna upgrade but the battery died n it wont turn on i tried the battery pull thing and it still doesnt work. Is just that thiS brand is horrible n should i just get a new laptop

Does the battery turn on when it is plugged in?
