Issue with one PC in the network

All other wireless devices can connect to the network without issue. This single pc does connect for a few seconds then no access to the internet. My laptop is right next to the PC and connects without issue.

I ran spybot search and destroy yesterday. I do not have Norton or Mcafee installed.

My network information screen on Windows 7 shows that I am connected to the network and the internet. In the cmd prompt I can ping google.com (min=13 ms, max = 211ms, avg= 92 ms). Wen trying to navigate to any web page it hangs and then get a page not available.

Here are a few things to try.

1. Open "Internet Explorer" (if running version 11), click the gear icon in the top right-hand corner, select "Internet Options", select "Advanced" tab, select "Reset", then "Reset" again.

2. Go to "Start", type "msconfig", right-mouse click and select "Run As Administrator", select the "Boot" tab, tick the check box "Safe boot" (located under "Boot options"), select "Network", click on "Ok", then click on "Exit without restart".

3. Go to "Start", type "cmd", right-mouse click and select "Run As Administrator", type within command prompt "netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt", hit "Enter", type "netsh winsock reset all", hit "Enter" then finally type "shutdown -r -f -t 0" and hit "Enter".

If you are unable to browse after restarting into "Safe Mode with Networking"; verify that you have obtained a new valid IP address. "ipconfig /all" will show this.

4. After your PC restarts, go to "Start", type "Network and Sharing Center", hit "Enter", on the left panel side select "Change adapter settings", right-mouse click on your wireless adapter (TP-LINK 450Mbps Wireless N Adapter), click on "Properties", select from the list "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), select "Properties", select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and select "Obtain DNS server address automatically" (Note: this only applies for DHCP configurations), hit "OK" and select "Close".

Is this happening when directly connected via ethernet cable? Might just be your laptop WiFi adapter. Also in Windows 10, some power management settings have been interfering with WiFi sleep settings, disabling the adapter after a while.

one is connection 7 and the other is connection 6.
so can i see the screenshot of your network adapters. and second thing is that is this the output while it is connected to the network or it is actually disconnected from network?

K, I disabled the netbios over tcp/ip for the wireless card.

Here is the ipconfig after that step. I am connected to the network as you can see in the pics but still no internet on the browser. Connection 6 is the actual wireless card, connection 7 is the Microsoft virtual miniport.

Same behavior as before. I changed the DNS and was able to access the internet via browser for a few seconds before losing connectivity. Still showing connected on the Network information, still able to ping google.com, timing out on the browser.

This is a new wireless card that is a replacement for a netgear n300 usb wireless. It happens with that usb device as well. Could it be some sort of interference that is causing this? I get 3-4 bars of reception on the lower right tray.

no there is not any kind of interference. is it the wireless USB card? and if it is wireless USB card then are you using it on board usb ports or you are using them on front panel?

No, the current setup is a wireless PCI card installed on the board. I was using a usb prior to getting this new card. I was having the same issues with the usb as well both on the front panel and the rear ports.

Before I tried your suggestion above, I moved the pc right next to the modem router. It started up and connected to the network without any manual intervention. I ran a speed test and it was a nice 29 mbps. I shut down and restarted a few times to make sure it reconnected and the internet was working.

I moved it back to my office and same issue, connected to the network and internet (according to the network information) but can't open a page.

Then I tried to change the router setting to b/g/n from G/N. I also unchecked the TCP/IPv6 under Network properties. rebooted a few times. When starting up, the computer does not automatically connect to the network like it did when it was right next to the modem. Then I tried to navigate to a web page and same results. Network information show connected to network and internet but no pages comes up.

Strange as I'm still showing 4 out of the 5 bars upstairs and a full 5 bars next to the modem/router.

I noticed something when running speed tests from my ipad. I have my work laptop, ipad and PC in the same area (within 3 feet of each other) I noticed that when the PC (can't connect) was on the ipad would time out on speed tests or very low <1mbps. I tried removing the PCI wireless card from the PC and still same results on the speed test on the ipad. There is no other device I know of on the PC that would be emitting signals but when the PC is on the signal on the ipad is too weak to run a speed test.

Any ideas?

I want to thank everyone who posted a possible solution especially Hackerk. I think I found a solution to my issues.

While doing searches for "PC creating wifi interference" there was a hit on an Android app Wifi Analyzer. Basically, it shows the best channel for your router to cast. It showed channel 6 for me. My router settings were on channel Auto. It appears that yesterday it was casting on 6 so I had no issues. Today it was casting on some other channel leading to the interference from my PC to my ipad.

Now my settings are pretty standard. DHCP enabled, using the DNS from my ISP and setting channel 6 on my router. Ipad, laptop and now PC all getting some pretty good DL speeds.

What a nightmare, hope something this simple can help someone too.

good to here that your problem has been solved. and i was knowing the about the channel 6 but i thought that might not be the problem. but in the end it was radio frequency problem. anyways you are having the internet collection on pc.
