I unplugged my PC when I went out of town and after plugging it back in I am having all kinds of problems.

First I plugged in the surge protector, flipped it on, flipped on psu switch and hit the power button and noticed everything but the case fans were on. I tried holding the power button for a few seconds and that started up all the case fans but noticed my monitors are staying black with no picture. Held the power switch down again to try and turn everything off, but only the case fans turn off, the mobo and everything else stays on. The only way to turn everything off is the psu switch.

I tried unplugging everything and reconnecting. Now when I flip the psu switch on everything except the case fans turn on immediately and the case switch only seems to turn the case fans on and off. It seems like everything is able to be powered on except there’s nothing on the monitors still.

Really at a loss to what’s causing the problem and it was only unplugged for a day.

Solution
This is one of the reasons I never turn off my home computer, except for upgrades and cleaning, which has been running for 16 years. My work laptop stays running 24x7 too. Everything is connected to a UPS. Working in IT for over 30 years, we rarely turn off equipment. I remember one set of IBM DASD that was running for years and someone accidently hit the emergency power-off button. When the heads parked, to prevent a crash, the stops became gummy and the arms could not remove themselves from them when power was restored. The point I'm getting at...

I don't know how long you keep your equipment running between power-offs, but I never power mine off, because the heating and cooling, along with the power spikes wreaks havoc with...
Just checking: You did power on the monitors, right? Because you should get a momentary image popping up on them and a warning that there is no signal if the video card is not sending a signal to them.

Yes they show their logo and then go into rest mode. I also tried taking the gpu out and using the onboard graphics but still nothing.

What keeps happening is:
Flip on psu switch
Everything except case fans immediately come on without touching the case power switch
Holding case power switch only turns the case fans on and off now.
Monitors unresponsive.

Really not sure which component is having the issue. PC has been running fine for 2 years.

I don't know how long you keep your equipment running between power-offs, but I never power mine off, because the heating and cooling, along with the power spikes wreaks havoc with sensitive electronics. If your PC was running for a long period, before it was shutdown, the expansion and contraction could have created a minor fissure somewhere. One way to test this is to heat up the components to operating temperature using a heater or hair dryer, then powering it on. It's a SWAG, but it seems like something weird is going on here.
