After installing these new cables from CableMod yesterday my PSU burned out even though they are apparently compatible. I am in the process of getting a replacement and have already been granted a refund for the cables but I am very skeptical about trying it again with another set of cables once I receive my replacement. Unless I am missing something, the cables should have been fine.

Here are the components used:

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

Assuming CableMod wired them correctly. They should work. Although there is no guarantee that Corsair did not change their Pinout. The only way I'd ever use a third party cable in a modular PSU is to plug them all in. Turn on the PSU with no devices attached. Then manually verify the pinout for every plug is correct with a multi-meter.

My last cable mod set for my 850 RMx had a few loose pins when it arrived, but I just checked the pinout and plugged them back in. Mine were shipped in plastic bags so I think they are just tossed around. (I really only used the 24-pin and one 8-pin though)

Thanks for the replies. Any other advice/opinions are greatly appreciated as I am currently trying to decide whether I want to try ordering a new set of the CableMod cables for when my replacement PSU arrives.
