Issue with ram stick?

Sorry I'm new to this forum so hopefully this is in the correct spot.

I made a PC a while back and just noticed it's only running 8Gb RAM when I have 16GB installed. I read through similar old posts here and I tried removing them and switching etc.

It seems as if the sticks are only 4GB RAM each which is awkward. I'll be calling NEWEGG in 15 mins when they open up. I am on a 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium so I know it supports 16 GB.

The sticks clearly state 8GB on both of them.

What's the model # of the DRAM, the mobo and the CPU?

And in the meantime check that "Maximum memory" box is unchecked (Start > type in MSCOFIG and run > select Boot tab > select Advanced options).
