Hello,

I am currently facing a unique issue with updating the BIOS on my MSI A320M PRO-VD PLUS motherboard. The motherboard has a modified BIOS for branding purposes, which is preventing me from updating it using the official MSI BIOS updates. I have attempted to use the "afuwin" program to flash the BIOS, but I am encountering the error message: "ROM file information does not match system BIOS."

The reason I am attempting to update the BIOS is that the current version does not recognize the latest AMD CPUs. Here are the steps I have taken and the issues I've encountered:

  1. BIOS Recognition: The official MSI BIOS updates, including the latest version, do not show up in the MSI M-Flash utility, likely due to the modified BIOS on my motherboard.
  2. afuwin Program: I tried using the "afuwin" program to flash the BIOS with the latest version provided by MSI. However, the process is halted with the error message stating that the "ROM file information does not match system BIOS."
I am seeking guidance and assistance in resolving this problem. Updating the BIOS is crucial for my system to recognize the latest AMD CPUs. If anyone has experience with modified BIOS updates or has encountered a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate your insights and suggestions on how to proceed.

Thank you in advance for your help!

You might want to elaborate what BIOS version you're on and what BIOS version you're trying to update to.
Current Bios Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. 1.20, 27.11.2017 (taken with msinfo)
I'm trying to update latest version from MSI: 7B38v1I4(Beta version) Release Date: 2023-05-23

Non beta version (7B38v1E - Released: 2019-01-29) has the same error message.
