Hello,
I recently got a Netgear Powerline WiFi 1000 kit (v2) and have been trying to set it up. I'm trying to extend my current WiFi range and also to have a wired connection for my PS4.
One adapter is connected to my ISP provided modem/router and the access point shows up in the available WiFi network. However, when I connect to it, I have no internet access (IPv4 shows 169.254).
As some extra info, the modem/router has four LAN ports. A desktop is plugged into one port and the adapter is plugged into the second port. The modem/router also has wireless access built into it, which is being used as the family WiFi.
I've tried the following:
Could some tell me if I'm missing something? Should I just get a router, hook that up to the modem/router and then hook the Powerline up to the router?
Any thoughts or feedback would be fantastic and highly appreciated. Thank you in advance and sorry for the message length!

I've tried the following:
Resetting the adapters to factory setting - no affect
Trying different Ethernet cords - nada
Removing the Ethernet cord from the adapter and using it on a laptop - no internet connection
Trying different LAN ports - diddly-squat
Rebooting the modem/router - nada
Unplugging the Ethernet cord that connects a desktop to the modem/router - Powerline had internet access after I did this
Could some tell me if I'm missing something? Should I just get a router, hook that up to the modem/router and then hook the Powerline up to the router?
