Issues updating to Windows 10, error code 80070057

I'l attempting to upgrade from Windows 7 Pro N to Windows 10 today, and keep running into the same issue in the Upgrade Assistant. Each time, it downloads 10 and tries to start the installation process, failing at 0% every time and giving me error code 80070057. Googling the problem has only turned up ways to fix this update issue on Windows 10 machines, and nothing for 7. The one potential solution I did find on the Microsoft forums, gave me a separate error message, "The update is not applicable to your computer." Is there a solution to this issue, or am I stuck on 7 (not that Win 7 is bad or anything 😛)?

what are you using to do the upgrade? inline or from the media creation tool?

Did you try running sfc scan ? If Yes, did you find any errors or something? try posting the detailed errors in sfc and your system configuration here.

Are you trying to do the free Upgrade, or is this a Win 10 that you have purchased?

Are you trying to do the free Upgrade, or is this a Win 10 that you have purchased?

The free upgrade, via the assistive tech link. And corroded, would I be correct to assume inline is updating without any physical boot drives? I'm doing all this through the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant program, downloaded here.

You'll probably have to talk to MS about this.

Had the same issue last week... there was corruption during the upgrade via the inline tool... The MS support agent I got had me start over and rerun the upgrade with the current mediacreation tool using the "Upgrade this PC now" choice. That said. Today is too late to do this for Free, unless it was done on this device and activated earlier successfully.
