Issues watching (some) streams on twitch.tv

Hello,

for a couple of months now I've been having a problem with some, but not all, channels on www.twitch.tv .
Most channels will work just fine, without any trouble. There are, however, other channels that simply will not load at all when I try to access them - even though others can watch them perfectly fine. (For me, it gets stuck at loading video - until at some point I get "unable to load video" as an error message.) I was able to watch the channels in question from a different location (using the same computer, but another internet connection) so I assume my connection has to be responsible somehow - which is why I chose this forum.
Interestingly, the channels that don't work are small ones with very few viewers (friends of mine just streaming their games). Bigger streams with thousands of viewers have always worked for me.

I've tried different browsers, tried opening ports on my router (1935, 443, 843 - I found those numbers somewhere on a twitch help forum), but so far without success. There have also been occasions where I could watch those small streams - but only for a limited time, and seemingly randomly, not after having changed something.

An example of a stream that almost never works for me: http://www.twitch.tv/sambench
An example of a stream that I've never had a problem with: http://www.twitch.tv/trumpsc

Does anybody have an idea as to what might be causing this? Are there any differences in how 'small' personal streams and 'large' professional ones are handled?

Any help would be much appreciated!

If you have limited bandwidth on your end and the streaming is sending a high def video they may be sending more than your connection can receive. I am no expert on twitch but you have to have earned the right to have the button that lets end users select the quality of the video feed.

I don't think it's a bandwidth issue, because I can watch the streams that work on the highest quality setting without a problem. On those streams that don't work to begin with, I don't get any picture so I can't even choose a quality setting.

I have the same problem. But for me, is more like the browser loads about two seconds of the stream, plays it, and then I have to wait for 30 seconds until the next two seconds are loaded.

I dont think it is a bandwidth problem, because my net speed monitor shows an ussage lower than the 20%.

It hapens only with some small streamers of my country.

I don't know why or how to solve it.

Please help.
