[SOLVED] Issues with 144hz

I got a new graphics card recently (RTX 2080) which does not have DVI-D, while my monitor does not have Display-Port. My monitor also does not support HDMI at 144hz (supposedly, if you have suggestions let me know), I have an HDMI cord that supports up to 18 Gbps but does not give me 144hz. Any solutions, other than buying a new monitor?
