Hey.
This is my first pc build, so don't rule out any novice mistakes.
So I built my pc, everything is installed, but when I plug my hdmi cable into the motherboard's slot or the GPUs slot the display gets no video signal.

Parts:
- Core i5 4460 CPU
- Asus H87-Plus motherboard
- Asus R9 290x GPU
- Corsair cx40m power supply
I can supply more details if needed.

There is also no bois beep, which my windows xp system seems to do, so that might be of interest.

Cheers, hope you can help!

I'll give it a try. Note that my GPU, CPU, PSU and case fans all run when I turn it on.

on the bios beep at post new mb dont have a speaker on them. they will beep but you have to buy a case speaker.

for the no post try one ram stick and no video card. if the mb post check the bios rev of the mb make sure it has the newest file from asus on it.

Alright, still not fixed.
Things i've tried:
- Testing w/ only intergrated graphics.
- Reseating the memory.
- Checking the CPU socket (none are bent).
- One ram stick.
- Ensure all the motherboard thump screws are in and the motherboard is seated correctly.

I am now trying to update the bios via USB.

It appears as if the whole connections panel (w/ usb, video etc) isn't working as nothing happens when I plug in a USB, and hdmi video doesn't work either.

The rest of the motherboard seems to be working as the lights are lit up and all the fans are spinning at what seems to be a fine idle speed.

Thanks for all the suggestions though :)
- Joe.
