Hey all, been having a bit of a rough day with my new memory.
I bought some corsair vengeance 1600mhz. I installed it only to end up in a bsod. Which carried over through my old memory, I figured it maybe my so that caused it, so I did a reinstall which seems to have cleaned the issue.

My new issue is the ram is only running at 1333mhz, which it shouldn't be.
I also noticed my cpu running at 3.7 ghz, which is over the top.
My cpu only used to run at stock 3.5ghz.

I think it's got something to do with the Intel xmp or something which I turned on to try get my ram running at 1600mhz.

Only the two new sticks are in there. All other arma removed.

I'm using the normal setup for my mobo ifi. Remember rightly, it's slot 1 and 3.

I can't seem to find out where I do that honestly as I was looking for it earlier.
My processor also seems to have overclocked itself, it's running at 3.7ghz, when it's stock is supposed to be 3.5Ghz.

We'll, I reset my bios now. And figured out why my bsod was happening.

If your Windows was installed in IDE mode then your BIOS has to be set to IDE or it will not work. If you want to get full functionality out of your SSD, you will have to set the SATA controller to AHCI mode, then install.

Try that first, then try changing your memory speed again.

Wow, i did what you said and changed to ahci via the regedit method. And it actually works again haha.
I have tried changing my ram to run at 1600mhz again, but no luck again

I beleive i may have been looking st the wrong thing all along.
I just changed it all to xmb and set the freq to 1600, and cpu-z says its running st 800 so thats fine.
My control centre still says its running st 1333 but i think that may e wrong.
