Hi Everyone,

So my younger brother recently (2 weeks ago) bought a PS4 and he uses it all day (about 8 hours per day on school days and 12-14 hours per day on weekends). Most of what he is doing is gaming but he also does watch netflix and crackle on it from time to time. In the past 2 weeks we have seen our data usage as a household spike to about 3x our normal usage and we all think it is due to the PS4 (we think this because the spike in usage hit around the same time the PS4 came into the household). I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with PS4s and what their data usage is like (i.e. is it normal for a PS4 to use a crap ton of data... like 10 GB or so per day)? We're trying to run some tests at the moment to see if it really is the PS4 that is causing the issue but I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this.

Thanks for any help ya'll can provide.

Solution
Netflix, Crackle and other video streaming services are going to use a ton of bandwidth....and your data usage will sky rocket. Different games will use different amounts of data depending upon how interactive they are....but playing 8-14 hours a day.....it will definitely boost the data usage...

Solution
8 hours on a school day is definitely too much. 14 hours a day is way too much but anyway its your kid not my problem. Streaming video that much will use loads of bandwidth and online gaming less so but using it for that long will have an impact
