Question Issues with DDR5 RAM ?

Good Morning.

I have just built a new work PC and I need some help.

Specs
CORS VENG DDR5 2x32GB 5600 C40
MD RYZEN 9 7950X3D
MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK Wi-Fi
2x1TB M2
RTX 3090( my old card not new )
1200W PSU

I got the PC running and installed OS and all. however, RAM is running at a base of 4800 Speed so i wanted to enable the profile and poof. PC does not want to boot anymore. It has the RED and ORANGE LED enabled. I understand it does ram training or something like that and the BAM System shuts down. Before it would do that then just reboot and work but it was not stable.

I flushed CMOS
Bios is updated with the latest version from MSI.

But still does not like to run on the profile for 5600.

I want to add another 64 GB kit later but I have heard that the new DDR5 is rather flakey on a 4 DIMM setup with AMD

Does anyone know much and can help or point me in the right direction?

What is the make and model to your 1200W PSU and it's age?

Bios is updated with the latest version from MSI.
Which BIOS version are you currently on for your motherboard? Which ram slots are the sticks of ram populating on the motherboard? Can you work with all timings set to AUTO but the frequency manually set to DDR5-5600MHz?

I want to add another 64 GB kit later but I have heard that the new DDR5 is rather flakey on a 4 DIMM setup with AMD
You will need for the BIOS to mature, meaning more updates incoming, or deal with what you currently have on the system since you can add more memory just not at those frequencies.

PSU is Thermaltake G 1200W Platinum Modular PSU About 1.5 yrs old

Ram is in A2 B2

BIOS is AMI BIOS7E12v142023-08-14

Never really done manual timings to be fair. always used XMP profiles.

Yeah, People also seem to point out that AMD does not seem to like Corsair RAM and to get Gskill or Kingston however the Vengence kit I have has a verified AMD EXPO profile.

the more i read the more i understand about maturing bios and future compatibility/stability updates this whole things is way different to when i assembled my DDR4 Work PC 😀

My usual strategy is to relax the CL (CAS) timing on all DIMMs by 1 or 2 clock cycles if overclocking with XMP. fails.

With your RAM, try setting CL (CAS) to 42 and see if the machine boots into Windows. If not, try CL (CAS) at 44.

When (if) you get into Windows, you can try reducing the CL (CAS) timings back down towards 40, until the machine stops working again.

A full run of MemTest86+ would be sensible when you think the machine is stable.
