Asus Strix b450-F

Patriot Black Series DDR4 3000

I am not new to overclocking but I am having a issue getting this memory to 3000mhz

If I enable XMP it shows in bios target to 3000 mhz, When you set this and boot into windows its still running at ddr4 2133.

When I manually set the speed and timing per specs the pc will not boot.

Any ideas?

Solution
If the memory is in slots A1/B1 move them to A2/B2 then enable DOCP in the BIOS. If this still doesn't work then update the BIOS but be sure to do so in order as skipping updates could brick the motherboard and ASUS doesn't cover that in the warranty.

Keep in mind that Intel and AMD have different memory controllers. Buying RAM isn’t always plug and play when it comes to XMP. This is why you have manufacturers that specifically state that it works with Intel or AMD in the product description. Should have went with good Gskill RAM. Flare X or trident NEO if you like RGB. These are made SPECIFICALLY for AMD CPUs.

um. this memory is on the Vendor Compatible list. As for XMP, I stated that manual the settings also do not work. As for quality ram I have been using Patriot for years.

Well, you didn’t list your CPU so I can’t verify if it’s on QVL. It’s not on there for Ryzen 3000 series. Using Patriot for years doesn’t have anything to do with compatibility lmao. Plenty of people have used every memory manufacturer and have had issues with Ryzen memory controllers. Obviously you missed the point. My RAM works fine so good luck!
