Hi, I'm dealing with some issues with the lack of ability to use the Bluetooth dongle's feature of well bluetooth on my HP-G62-340US Laptop running Windows LTSB 2015.

The laptop's Broadcom Wifi card doesn't support bluetooth, so I bought the insignia bluetooth 5.0 adapter NS-PA3BT5A2B22. The laptop originally came with Windows 7 Home Edition, but was upgraded to Windows LTSB 2015 due to the laptop lacking performance in the CPU department.

When I connected the BT dongle, it shows that the drivers installed onto the laptop and shows recognition of a Bluetooth dongle device. However, in the settings in bluetooth, with bluetooth devices trying to pair to a device around it, it just keeps loading and never recognizes any bluetooth device. However, my PC will recognize my smart tv's, printers, and xbox. What the hell is going on?

Are your other devices connecte through Bluetooth or WiFi or ethernet? If they are connecting that way, then I suspect that the Insignia adapter does not work with that version of windows. Try contacting Insignia's customer support.

All my peripherals are using a USB dongle to use the computer since tbh my keyboard & touchpad isn't the most reliable. For some reason, the dongle works fine on my main PC running Windows 11 Home. So maybe asking for support from Insignia's Customer Support but idk if I will get a solution.

Maybe LTSC 2015 is just too outdated. I have encountered Bluetooth adapter that does not install driver completely on my mini PC that's too old. The mini PC comes with Win 8.0 and I have difficulty installing it on Windows 10 x64

God forbid if it is, cause if thats the case, I'm going to have to upgrade the CPU. On Windows 10 21H2, it proceeded to basically peg the cpu utilization to 100% 24/7. Whats weird is that on the box of the dongle, it says it supports Windows 8.1 so?

Laptop brand/ cpu/model ?

Oops, you already mentioned it in the title,

2011 CPU AMD Athlon II P340 ? I have to say it's old and slow. And how do you upgrade a laptop cpu?

You will need SSD to run any Win10

The bluetooth thing likely is always about driver.

I would suggest run Linux if you don't need particular Windows app

So the CPU is on the AMD Socket S1 Platform and consists of multiple CPUs, from single core to quad core CPUs. I already got an SSD but I had windows on a hard drive before, and I've tried Linux, the ATI Radeon HD 4250 IGPU doesn't have Vulcan support and has max directx support of 10.1 . I think its a driver update but rn its 1:47AM for me and support isn't available to solve the dongle issue.

Fair enough, so the CPU is upgradable but you also mentioned HD 4250 GPU limitation, so exactly what do you want to use the laptop for? Apparently it's not suitable for gaming or even youtube. Why not use it as a NAS?

I'm trying to use it for gaming & youtube & daily use. Thats why I picked the OS I chose. We've went from why my bluetooth dongle dosent work to figuring out what I should do with the device that I've figured out its happy medium and have gotten it to run games & videos well. AND A NAS, dude I got a god damn Dell Poweredge R715 2U Server with 1.8TB of storage, two AMD Opteron 6376 CPU's & a GT 1030 DDR4 Graphics Card.

Fair. the bluetooth adapter probably has a Realtek chip with hardware ID 6655:8771 after internet search

https://www.google.com/search?q=PA3BT5A2B22+device+id

see if you can find it's driver.for LTSB 2015

Anyway,

I personally have a bluetooth adapter that can see everything except a new bought bluetooth keyboard. All I can do is to return the keyboard,

And I have yet another Broadcom bluetooth adapter that's built-in my Z8350 mini pc that's absolutely extremely hard to install its driver but I managed to install it eventually by using files from Windows Update Catalog manually.

Ok so I decided to download Driver Easy to see what it says about the drivers on my system. Now idk how good Driver Easy is but apparently it detected the adapter and basically said you need to update drivers. When I click for further details, it says I have a current Bluetooth driver provided by Microsoft from 2006-06-21. It then shows the newest driver for my system is provided by Realtek Semiconductor Corp. from 2022-01-24 of version 1.9.1041.3000 . Problem is, in order to update I either need to: Pay for a Driver Easy subscription which I aint doin, Update the drivers manually which there's no installation software provided by Realtek. So does anyone know how I can manually update the drivers?

What is your current driver?
Go device manager and upload an image of it
Check no double BT there, I think your laptop wasn't shipped with one
Under the BT expand it, and under details tab go to the dropdown menu to ID and copy first line into your next reply.

So changed to Windows LTC 2019 and that fixed my issue, I've been using the fob normally and haven't had any issues. Either the Windows LTSB 2015 ISO I had was bad or was too old.
