Issues with minecraft?

I currently have a GTX 970, AMD FX8320, 1TB HDD, 120GB SSD. Gigabyte motherboard and a 750 PSU. But yet still my pc doesn't like playing minecraft, most of the time I barely get 60 fps. And it's all been struggling with a couple of other games, like LoL (I recently upgraded to the 970, used to have Radeon 7870. This didn't make an impact on performance). I'm very confused and any suggestions would be appreciated.

uninstall the previous AMD drivers and update to the latest nvidia drivers, also update your bios.

Currently installing a new motherboard, so I'm hoping that'll fix it. I let you know 😛
