Alright, so I'm a first-time PC builder and I've got a problem. My monitor is a VGA monitor that is attached to the mobo VGA port. Everything works fine and dandy and my system POSTs. Now, I add my GPU in(and no monitor is attached to it). I boot up the system, "No Signal". Is this normal, and is the way to fix this is by plugging in a monitor into my GPU? Let me know thanks.
Also, my GPU only has DVI and HDMI ports, 1x DVI-D, 1x DVI-I. I have two VGA monitors and I am looking at a converter. Can I only use one converter, as I only have one DVI-I port?
Also, which converter do I get? VGA to DVI-I or VGA to DVI-A.
And finally, would there be a problem with me having one monitor in the mobo VGA port and the other one in the GPU DVI port? I don't plan to game or video edit with two monitors, just going to use the second monitor to manage my background applications when I'm gaming(as most games go fullscreen). I want my OS to utilize two monitors.
Also, if this makes it easier, the monitor I intend to plug into the GPU has something called "DVI(optional)" in the instruction manual. However, I've looked through the monitor 20 times and there isn't a DVI port.
