Issues with my Gaming Rig

Hey guys, as the title says, i'm having a few issues with my Gaming Rig. I've built it have maybe a month. And, i think isn't fast enough for the price i've paid on it. Sometimes lag, or even crash. There goes the specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4590
MB: MSI H97 Gaming 3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1x4GB 1600Mhz DDR3
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 270
PSU: Corsair CX430.

Well, for the price i've paid for these parts on my country i could have built something much stronger if i were from USA. Anyways, it's done, and i think i'm not satisfied with the performance of the Machine,i though it would be more faster, for everyday usage, turn on and off and things like this.

For the System, PCPartPicker said, that it's using 384W from the 430W of the PSU, that's why i thought it wouldn't be an issue, but if it is, i'll have to change for something like a Corsair RM650 for a future proof.

I really believe that what's holding on my System its the HDD, i think it's time to put a SSD on that, i never experienced the usage of a PC with a SSD yet, but i think it should make it faster.


If there is anything i can do, if i built it wrong, can you guys advice me please? Thanks.

Both of what you mentioned are good points, especially the power supply.

The power supply is quite an issue because under stress it delivers about 80% of It's capability, which means there is a serious issue there.

You want atleast 100w headroom on your power supply, this is waaay to close and you should upgrade immidiately.

Instead of the RM650, get this one:

Changing the power supply, indeed, with something http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207031
Then installing Windows on the new PC, if you haven't so far.
And then a SSD.
4 gb is ok, but 2x4 gb would be slightly better.

Yes, added to that you want 2x4GB. Get another 4GB before you buy an SSD.

4GB is too low for gaming.

crashes are probably due to the power supply. Get a better PSU.
4gb of RAM is on the low side, consider upgrading to a 8gb.

The SSD won't improve lag.

Well guys, the Crash i meant, wasn't when i'm gaming, i didn't threw anything so heavy to make it happen. It's simply crashes and when it happens i check the CPU and Disk Usage and the CPU it's Always under 20% and the Disk Up to 100% when the system starts lagging.

This doesn't mean you need an SSD. the crash is probably due to a crappy PSU, and the lagging is probably due to low RAM.

I see, i'll change it sooner as i can, thank all of you for the time. I'll add more one RAM Stick so i can Dual Channel, and change this PSU too. Thanks.

No prob.

500 gb of hard drive memory is also on the low side for gaming (depends how many games and what type of course). Check how much disk space you're using, if you are already using 70-80% of disk space I would consider upgrading to a 1TB or 2TB WD black, or blue before upgrading to an SSD.
