Issues with new modem?

I recently got a new modem (Netgear cm1000) and tried to connect it to my old router (Asus AC3100). The modem works fine, I can connect to the internet from it, but the router has been causing me issues. When I connect the modem to the router, and boot up the router, the WAN led turns pink. Not blue, not white, not red, but pink. Nothing can connect to it wirelessly. I connected my laptop to the router via ethernet, and tried going to the router GUI. I tried router.asus.com, nothing. I tried the default IP of 192.168.1.1, nothing. I 30-30-30 hard reset it, same as before. I've heard people have solved the issue with new firmware, but I can't even get to the GUI. I've been working on this for 3 days and have no idea what to do. I appreciate any help.

Solution
Have you tried another known working Ethernet cable(s) to connect between modem and router. Or your laptop to router?

Do you have the User Manual for the Asus AC3100?

If not, check the bottommost download on the following link:

https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RT-AC3100/HelpDesk_Manual/

Use the manual to double check your physical connections, router configuration, and troubleshoot via the LED's.

If the router has logs and they are enabled, the logs may have captured some error code or problem.

Solution
You should be able to connect to the router even with the modem unplugged.

If you're not getting an ip when connecting the router might have previously been setup as an access point.

If you factory reset it should go back to basic routing.

do an ipconfig and confirm if you are getting an ip from it or not.
