Hello all,

Setting up a computer using my old components, and I cannot seem to get the onboard Realtek sound to work. It keeps seeing "HDMI Digital" as not being hooked up, but I cannot seem to get it to use my speakers. I have tried several drivers from Realtek, and nothing seems to be getting it to see and use my speakers. Before these parts were put in storage I had no issues with the drivers. I did a clean install of Windows 7 pro 32 bit onto the system. Any help would be wonderful!

In addition, I have tried uninstalling the drivers to let windows re-detect, and it keeps reinstalling drivers for HDMI Digital sound, of which I have none.

Finally figured it out, turns out the radeon card i have was taking priority over the onboard card, had to turn it on manually in BIOS. hope anyone else that has this issue finds this fix!

[RESOLVED]

I had a similar problem getting the 5.1 sound to work on my HP a6245n working.
The motherboard is: Asus IPIBL-LA

I went into the BIOS and:
1. selected PCI-e x16 for the video card (I also have a radeon)
2. set the onboard audio to ENABLED (rather than auto)

problem solved.

thanks for posting the resolution
