Hi guys, its my first post here so i apologise if ive placed this in the wrong section.

about a month ago i installed an MSI 1070 8GB armored edited into my pc, before this i had an r9 280x for around 3 half years.

Everything is going really well so far, seen a massive improvement (obviously) but im having some issues with the PC not waking up after sleep mode.

Back when i had the r9 280x, all i used to do to wake the pc up was press any key on my keyboard or click or move my mouse and it would wake up normally. However now after installing the new gpu whenever i try to wake the pc in the same way it just stays off.

Instead i have to turn it on as if it had been totally powered down at which point it turns on quite slowly (i stay on the bios screen for about 40 odd seconds whereas before that screen would only stay for like 2-3 seconds).

Also about 3 years ago the power button broke. My PC is totally open and being the lazy git that i am i still haven't gotten round to replacing the button. Instead for the past 3 odd years i have been continuously bridging two pins allocated to the power button on the motherboard with a screwdriver in order to jump start the PC 😛

As i said before ive been using this method to switch my PC on for 3 years now. I did it when i had the old gpu and im also doing the same with the new gpu but now i also need to do it when i wake the PC up from sleep mode.

What ive noticed is that the fans on the GPU and the processor spin for about 3-4 seconds after which they turn off and the system stays off. I need to repeatedly bridge the 2 pins 2-3 times before the pc turns back on, rather sluggishly. Ive turned sleep mode off all together but i am a bit worried as to what could be causing this as it has only started since the new GPU went in.
