Hi Guys,
I fitted a new EVGA PSU 750w and the R9 270X into my Acer Aspire system a few days ago. The case in a bit small and it took a bit of work to get it all in. The plugs on top of the video card are a little squashed as are the drive connectors on the mobo as the video card pushes into them.
I ran Speedfan and found temperatures were at about 50-55C. The card then gave me some difficulties. The system graphics froze a couple of times and I have has messages about the "card stopped working but it recovered.
I took off the side cover and use a fan to blow on the system in case heat was an issue. Speedfan now sits at about 40-50C. Performance is generally good. I can play games like Skyrim an the highest graphical level with no glitches. Still though, I was recording with Bandicam and I got a graphical freeze again. All drivers have been updated.
I have a new full tower case being delivered, but I do wonder if my video card is damaged in some way?
